My Classroom!

Whew! It's been a crazy two weeks of inservice, but....the kids come on Monday! It seems I've been working on my room forever, and now the time is finally here. PICTURES! I hope you all enjoy them. I'm proud...to say the least. I hope my kids love it as much as I do!

I GOT A JOB!!

I am now the Spanish 1 and 2 teacher for Bonham High School in the fair city of Bonham. For those of you who have NO idea where Bonham is...don't worry...I had no idea either till a week ago! It's about an hour northeast of where Logan and I are living now. Yes, that means we are moving, but have no fear. We have it figured out!

Anyway back to Bonham, it's about the size of Manchester, but the high school only has about 600 students! I'm so excited about spending my first year as a teacher at such a small school in a small town setting. I can't wait to see what the fall brings!

Birthday weekend

I got to go home June 6-10 in order to celebrate 3 of the 5 family members' birthdays. I had a blast!

June 6th- I got to give my little sis, Kenzie, her 12th birthday present early since I wasn't going to be able to stay for her birthday on Thursday. She got some cute new clothes. She has to be the prettiest little sister ever! Also, I got to see my mom in a show called "Bad Year for Tomatoes." She got to play two roles: a famous actress and her crazy sister. When she came out on stage as the crazy sister I literally laughed until I cried! Oh man, if you haven't seen the picture of her all dressed up like that, just check my facebook.

June 7th-My dad's 50th birthday! (Notice the crazy stuff we made him wear since he was getting so old.) We had my family, grandparents from both sides, and my great-grandmother over for lunch and cake. We all had a great time being together, especially my grandmothers who rode on dad's motorcycle (with him, of course).

June 8th-Unfortunately I don't have pictures for this fun event, and you will understand why once I tell you who was there. For my brother's 20th birthday celebration, his friends and I decided we'd take him hiking at Foster Falls and Fiery Gizzard Trail. Even though we got a late start and had a few bail on us (you know who you are lol), Josh, Zach, Brian, Drew, and I went on an all day hiking adventure. We had a blast and were thoroughly frozen and exhausted after swimming. We then all went to the Whitham's for some food and games. I haven't laughed as hard as I did that day in a long time...or at least since I saw my mom act like a crazy woman!

June 9th-My brother's 20th birthday! Got up and ran some errands with my mom and sister (hitting Marti and Liz Shoe Store, of course) and went to Red Lobster for Drew's birthday lunch. Little did he know that his friend, Louisa, and I had been plotting behind his back. So as we were trying to decide on what to eat, in walks Louisa and TOTALLY shocks Drew. It was so perfect! We spent the meal laughing and having a great time. (For those of you who know Louisa, you know she was a big hit!) After lunch, we swam at the Holts' pool, and then I went to eat dinner with my bests, Jill and Allison. I got to meet Jill's new baby, Miss Lady too!

It was a definitely a weekend full of interesting stories and lots of laughing!

Decisions.

Oh man. When I was planning a wedding, I was sick of making every little decision about everything. Well, good thing I had practice...cause lately all of these opportunities are popping up, and Logan and I are having to make more decisions in the last month or so than we have since getting married. Grad school for Logan-how many hours to take a semester, when to start taking classes, when to make a job change, etc. Teaching for me-bilingual or Spanish, keep my part-time Ann Taylor job or drop it, etc. If Logan wants to start grad school this fall, he's gotta take the GMAT and fill out an application....like NOW. I need to make a decision on how much I wanna continue to work at Ann Taylor...like NOW. So please, pray for us! :)

Life So Far in the Big D

In an effort to spare you boring details, this is mainly what's going on right now in our lives right now:
We have our sweet, 5-month-old Yorkie-Poo named Zeus...who is hysterical.

Logan works as a Financial Analyst in the residential market.
I work for Ann Taylor.
Currently, we are both looking for new jobs. I'm getting my alternative certification in teaching in order to teach Spanish...starting this fall. No job offers yet but plenty of interviews!
Logan is studying for Level One of the CFA test. Once he passes this, it will only be onward and upward for him!

Logan is also an assistant coach for a 14-year-olds select baseball team. He loves the kids and, of course, being around baseball!

We are actually going to have to move apartment complexes at the end of the summer cause of rent going up. (ick)

We attend church where Logan's family (mom, dad, brother, and sis-in-law) go and absolutely love the people there. It's hard trying to find our niche because most people in this 'newly marrieds' class already have kids. However, there are a few couples we have a lot in common with and love!

Overall it's pretty eventful right now. Once we get settled into new jobs and a new apartment, I'll feel like I can actually relax and spend more time with our friends. Our schedules are so hectic and conflict a lot of times that we don't have a lot of time for other adventures(and for me to be able to try out for plays).

Because Logan and I don't plan on living in Dallas forever, I have made a list of places I want to visit while I live in Texas. So over the next year or so, we plan to visit these places: Austin (to see my uncle Jimmy and family), San Antonio (hopefully accompanied by my family), The Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Big Ben National Park, El Paso (so I can see the Rio Grande, the beginning of the Rockies, and the dreaded West Texas), South Padre Island, Brownsville (Texas' southernmost city), and go to a Cowboys game. We already checked "Go to a Rangers game" off our lists last weekend.

As you can see, we have a lot to accomplish. I hope to keep you updated on all the big (and small) happenings of our duet!
