Our Little Fishie

Thursday night Emmie, Logan, and I got in the pool for the first time this summer! (We have all put our feet in before, but this is the first time we went ALL in!)

Emmie seemed to LOVE it! She giggled, was entranced by all the splashing going on around her, and just seemed super at ease with the whole thing. 

After reading a few articles on how to best protect your baby's skin, we decided to invest in a rash guard for Em. It's SUPER cute and allows me to not be such a sunscreen Nazi.

We sure do love our little fish!

Sittin' Up!!

(This big milestone occurred for the first time several weeks ago, but I'm just now sitting down to post.)

Our baby girl is SITTING UP! She has been able to sit up for short spurts starting around 5 1/2 months, but nothing too major. THEN, while Drew and Louisa were here (a post for another day), she started sitting up for longer and longer....... The next week I took her to one of my exercise classes for mamas and babies, and she sat up for 30 minutes straight without falling over! And then did it AGAIN later that day!!!


Since Tuesday, May 18th, Emmie has become a champ at the sitting up game. We put her on a little quilt with bunches of toys, put pillows around the back of her and to the sides, and just let her play while we do things around the house, fix dinner, etc. It's AH-MAZING! Plus, she seems to be having a blast too! Can't ask for more than that...productivity AND a super happy baby.

Mommy and Daddy are SO proud of you! We love watching you have so much fun sitting up and slapping your legs while laughing. You are SUCH a happy baby, and we are so blessed to call you our own!

Emmalyn Faith is SIX months old!

I have a six month old. WHAT?! Where did my little baby go that had such a soft little whimper of a cry, cuddled all the time, and was so content to just sit in your lap and look around?

She has been replaced by a busy, vocal little girl that wants to touch and get into EVERYTHING!

This month, Emmie:
-rolls from front to back and back to front more and more often....which makes getting her toys much easier.
-jabbers for hours on end.
-sits with support.
-is even MORE happy and content!
-giggles ALL the time.
-reaches out to touch anything and everything.
-always has a hold of her feet.
-is eating some solids and loving them!
-loves her sippy cup, even though she's not great at it yet.
-tries to touch Zeus every chance she gets.
-was visited by Sugar, Papi and Tia.
-got in the pool for the first time!
-sleeps so much better...especially at nap time.

26 3/4 in long (80%)
18 lbs (85%)

This month has definitely been a busy one for Ms. Emmie Faith. Logan and I are so in love with our little girl that it makes our hearts want to burst!

Emmie,
Your mommy and daddy cannot believe how much you have grown and how fast you have changed! Each day is so precious with you. I love being able to stay at home with you. It is the most fun (and exhausting) job I've ever had. You charm everyone you meet with that precious, toothless grin. Much to Mommy's chagrin, strangers love to come up to talk to you because they see how happy you are! I cannot wait to watch you discover new and exciting things in your future.
